Adrienne T. Montes

Adrienne provides clients with an effective and progressive approach to the development and promotion of their businesses, including advising clients on branding strategies and the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.  She crafts and passionately negotiates agreements for her clients, including licensing and showroom representation agreements, and she litigates various commercial matters in New York State.


Prior to joining Gabay Bowler, Adrienne served as the Dean’s Fellow for the Fashion Law Institute – the world’s first center dedicated to law and the business of fashion.  There, she created and managed the pro bono program and assisted fashion designers, models and retail boutiques with various legal issues as well as organized a fashion presentation at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week.  Adrienne continues her involvement in the Institute’s Pop-Up Clinics as an active volunteer providing pro bono counsel to CFDA members and others.

Adrienne received her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law where she was the Research and Writing Editor of the Fordham Environmental Law Review, a recipient of the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, a participant in the Securities Litigation and Arbitration Clinic, and an active member of the Student Bar Association.  Adrienne also interned at private investment funds where she advised on various aspects of the Dodd-Frank Act.  Adrienne graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Commerce and French.  While at Texas A&M, Adrienne won several leadership awards and created six on-campus recycling programs, including the award-winning recycling program at Kyle Field where over 90,000 people attend football games each weekend.

Adrienne is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York where she is the Chair of the Fashion Law Committee.
